JALLAIS, a rural city of 3,200 inhabitants is located in the south of the Maine–et-Loire department at one hour from Nantes. Various activities are offered to discover the area such as fishing or hiking. The Wars of Vendée left an important heritage, which is reflected in the French theme park Le Puy du Fou - located at 40 km from Jallais.

Situated between the cities of Beaupréau and Jallais, the old castle - Le Château de la Chaperonnière -  has been a very famous place since the beginning of the 16th century. It is an historical site where Jacques-Joseph de Cathelineau – a French insurrection leader during the French revolution - was murdered.
